For the second year, Heritage Family Services is holding its
“Pasta With a Purpose” Dinner as part of National Adoption Month celebrations
in November. The event is planned for the evening of November 4th. Heritage
is a non-profit licensed adoption agency which provides a full range of adoption
services to both adoptive families and also to birth parents. Delia Massaro
is the Chair of this year’s Planning Committee. Delia and her husband, Dr.
Mark Massaro, are adoptive parents who experienced first hand the services
of Heritage Family Services when they adopted their daughter three years ago.
Delia states, “Our family has been so blessed by our daughter, and we want
to see other families experience the joy of adoption.”
This year’s dinner is again being sponsored and catered by Carrabba’s
Italian Grill at 4848 South Yale. Joel Hodges is the Proprietor of Carrabba’s
Italian Grill, and Joel and his staff are planning a wonderful pasta dinner
for the event. Joel has just acquired a new catering trailer and will be using
the trailer and grill to cater this dinner. Joel will be cooking up their
special Chicken Marsala entree, which is just one of the many outstanding
dishes at Carrabba’s Italian Grill.
The dinner will be held at the Tulsa Historical Society’s new
building at 2445 S. Peoria. Delia Massaro has been planning the dinner with
Mike and Debbie Nomura, who are the Co-Directors of Heritage Family Services.
Also involved is Jan Elms, a past Chair of the event. The members of the Board
of Directors are sponsoring the tables, and the dinner is free of charge to
those attending. Classical guitar music by Don Thompson will create a relaxing
mood both before and during the dinner. The evening will feature a presentation
about families and children whose lives have been touched by adoption through
Heritage. Two adoptive families will be sharing about their own personal journeys
with adoption. For more information, call Heritage Family Services at 491-6767.
