International Trips

During a recent trip to Saratov, Russia in December of 2004, Heritage’s Co-Director, Mike Nomura, was presented with an award. The recognition was made by a council of non-profit organizations and was to recognize a person or organization for actions to promote the renewal of charitable activity in this region. Mike was presented with the award for 2004 for help given to several of the orphanages in the region by Heritage Family Services. The lady presenting the award is Irena, who is Director of one of the orphanages which received the help.

During the December trip to Russia, Mike accompanied an Oklahoma family who are in the process of adopting a child from Russia. The young boy being adopted, Shasa, came to meet his new family at the train station.
